Create exam questions from PDF and documents

AI Questions by Intrazero lets you create exam questions from PDF, Word, and PowerPoint files in minutes. Upload a document, choose the question types and language you need, and the AI reads the material and writes a ready-to-use question set — structured, scored, and exportable.

Part of the iTest examination platform, AI Questions turns any source document — a lecture deck, a chapter PDF, a study guide — into a quiz without retyping content or building questions by hand. It supports 15 question types across 18 languages, including Arabic, and returns everything as clean JSON your LMS or assessment tool can ingest directly.

Turn any document into a question set

Point AI Questions at the material you already have. It accepts PDF, DOCX, PPTX, and TXT files up to 50MB, parses the content, and generates exam-ready questions that reflect what is actually in the document — definitions, processes, arguments, and worked examples.

Instead of authoring questions one at a time, you describe what you want — how many, which types, what language — and the model produces the full set in a single pass, ready to review and publish.

  • Upload PDF, DOCX, PPTX, or TXT files up to 50MB
  • Create a quiz from a PDF chapter, lecture slides, or a study guide
  • Generate across 15 question types in one request
  • Produce questions in 18 languages, including Arabic
  • No manual retyping — questions are drawn from your own source

How it works

You send the document to the AI Questions REST API and specify the question types, count, and language. Because generation can take time on larger files, the API responds asynchronously: it returns a 202 with a job_id, then you poll for the result or receive a webhook when the set is ready.

The model extracts the meaning of the document, drafts questions grounded in that content, and returns them in a predictable structure — so your system never has to scrape or reformat free text.

  • Submit a document plus your generation parameters to the REST API
  • Async flow: 202 + job_id, then poll or receive a webhook
  • Choose question types, quantity, and output language per request
  • Questions are grounded in the uploaded source material

What you get out

Every request returns structured JSON, not loose text. Each question arrives with its type, the question stem, answer options where relevant, the correct answer, and the fields your platform needs to store and grade it — so importing into an LMS or exam tool is a direct mapping, not a parsing project.

The 15 supported types cover everything from objective items to richer formats: multiple choice, true/false, short answer, essay, fill-in-the-blank, matching, ordering, code, math, diagram labeling, scenario-based, case study, drag-and-drop, hotspot, and drawing.

  • Clean, structured JSON output for every question
  • Question stem, options, and correct answer in predictable fields
  • 15 question types, from multiple choice to case study and code
  • Direct import into your LMS or assessment system — no reformatting

Who it's for

AI Questions is built for the people who create assessments at volume: university faculty and teaching teams, schools, training providers, and edtech platforms that need to generate question banks from existing course material quickly and consistently.

It is already trusted by universities including Ajman University, and has generated 13,000+ questions to date.

  • University faculty and teaching assistants building question banks
  • Schools and training providers turning course material into quizzes
  • Edtech and LMS vendors adding generation to their own products
  • Arabic-language institutions needing native question generation

One API, built to integrate

Question generation is one of four AI services in AI Questions — alongside auto-grading paper exams, AI essay marking, and bubble sheet OMR — all reachable through a single REST API documented with OpenAPI 3. For LMS teams there is a Moodle plugin, delivered through a partnership with PanWorld Education, and the platform integrates with LMS vendors more broadly.

Intrazero (founded 2016) builds AI Questions as a core module of its iTest examination platform, so generation slots into a full assessment lifecycle rather than living as a standalone tool.

  • Single REST API, documented with OpenAPI 3, for all four AI services
  • Async generation with job_id, polling, and webhooks
  • Moodle plugin via the PanWorld Education partnership
  • Part of the iTest examination platform by Intrazero
