What a website costs in Egypt

Ask three agencies in Egypt what a website costs and you can get three answers an order of magnitude apart. That is not evasion — the same two-word brief covers a template landing page and a custom platform with authentication, integrations and an audit trail. This page sets out what the market actually publishes, and what moves a project between those extremes.

The figures below were taken from 3 published price lists and cost guides read in August 2026. They are stated in Egyptian pounds exactly as published — nothing converted, rounded or averaged. They are market rates, not Intrazero's prices.

We do not sell templates. If your budget is below this, the Egyptian market offers template-based options that suit small brochure sites — a sound choice for that need, but not what we do.

Why the same brief varies so much

The spread is real and it is explainable. Most of the difference is not margin — it is scope that the word "website" hides.

The cheapest tier is a template configured with your content: fast, cheap, and genuinely right for a small brochure site. The most expensive is bespoke software that happens to be reached through a browser. Between them sit decisions about design, content, integration and compliance that each move the number.

  • Template versus bespoke design — the single biggest factor
  • Number of distinct page templates, not number of pages
  • Whether content is static or driven by a CMS your team edits
  • Authentication, user roles and permissions
  • Integrations with existing systems — ERP, CRM, payment, government services
  • Bilingual Arabic-English scope, which affects design, content and QA
  • Compliance review, security testing, and whether hosting must be in-country

Where the disagreement actually sits

The published floor in Egypt is genuinely lower than in any other market surveyed, and that floor is where most disputes begin. The useful question is not who is cheapest but which of them will still be answering the phone in year two.

How to compare quotes that look nothing alike

When two quotes differ by a factor of ten, the useful question is not which is cheaper but what each includes. These are the questions that make quotes comparable — and the ones that surface the costs that appear after launch rather than in the proposal.

  • Is the design bespoke or a configured template?
  • Who owns the code and the hosting account at the end?
  • Is the CMS included, and can non-technical staff edit without a developer?
  • What happens to Arabic — is right-to-left designed in, or added afterwards?
  • What is excluded: content, photography, translation, SEO, training?
  • What does year two cost — hosting, maintenance, support?

FAQ

How much does a website cost in Egypt?

Intrazero projects start from EGP 100,000 for a corporate website or portal, delivered in 6–10 weeks. A full e-commerce store starts from EGP 150,000, a custom platform or portal from EGP 250,000, and national or multi-entity systems are scoped individually. What moves the number within each tier is how many systems it must connect to, the security and audit requirements, the volume and languages of content, and expected traffic. We do not sell templates — if your budget is below this, the Egyptian market offers template-based options that suit small brochure sites, a sound choice for that need but not what we do.

What is the difference between a template site and a fully custom one?

A template gives you a look quickly and cheaply, and it genuinely suits a small brochure site with no load and no integrations. Its limits show later: performance is capped by whatever the template and its plugins impose, customisation hits a ceiling, and Arabic RTL is usually a translation layered over a design built for English — so typography, forms and reports break. A custom build starts from your requirement: architecture that carries traffic, integration with your systems, and full control of performance and security. The difference is not how it looks on launch day; it is what you can still do with it a year later.

What does bilingual Arabic and English add?

More than a translation line. Right-to-left changes layout mirroring, form and table alignment, icon direction, number and date formatting, and how mixed Arabic-Latin strings break across lines. Each language also needs its own metadata, URLs and structured data to rank independently. Designed in from the start it is a modest addition; retrofitted after launch it is consistently more expensive.

What are the costs that appear after launch?

Hosting, maintenance, content updates and support. Some published price lists in this market quote these separately and some fold them into year one, which is a common reason two quotes stop being comparable. Ask explicitly what year two costs before signing.

What raises the price within a single tier?

Four factors, in order of impact: how many systems it must connect to (ERP, CRM, payment gateway, something you already run), because each integration means analysis, testing and error handling; then security and audit requirements if the project is governmental or handles personal data; then the volume of content and how many languages it ships in — a bilingual site is not double the work but it is well over one and a half times; and finally expected traffic, because architecture serving thousands of sessions differs from one serving hundreds.

What is not included in the starting price?

It excludes hosting and domain, content production and photography, advertising campaigns, and any third-party licences your project specifically needs. We set these out during scoping, before contracting — discovering them after signature is the single most reliable way to damage a client relationship.

Can payment be staged?

Yes, tied to delivery milestones rather than the calendar: a payment on scope sign-off, payments on agreed milestone deliveries, and a final payment at launch. That protects both sides — you never pay for work not delivered, and we never start a stage before the previous one is signed off.
