What a website costs in Germany — and why the hourly rate is the real question

German website-cost guides already exist in quantity and broadly agree with each other. So this page covers them briefly and then asks the question none of them do: where are the hours actually being bought?

The figures below come from published price lists and cost guides read in August 2026, stated in euros exactly as published — not converted, rounded or averaged. They are market rates, not Intrazero prices.

Published German ranges

Each line spans the lowest and highest published figure we found for that service. The spread is real and it follows scope rather than margin.

  • One-pager / landing page: €1,000 – 7,000
  • Corporate website: €3,600 – 18,000 for agency projects; individual sources go to €55,000
  • Fixed-price website and shop packages: €790 – 2,990
  • E-commerce added to an existing site: €2,000 – 8,000
  • E-commerce integration and complex web applications: €8,000 – 85,000
  • Custom platform or portal: €10,000 – 45,000+
  • Mobile app (DACH): €15,000 – 130,000+
  • App maintenance and operations: €210 – 840 per month ex-VAT

The number missing from every German cost guide

Across Europe, hourly rates for comparable seniority run from €24 to €190 — by region, not by skill. That is a factor of eight for the same work. Stated precisely: this is a pan-European figure, not a German rate. German agencies sit at the top of that band.

This is where a budget is actually decided, and German guides almost never address it. The question is not only what a website costs, but who builds it, under what contract, in which time zone, and who is accountable when something goes wrong.

  • Western Europe: the top of the band
  • Central and Eastern Europe: the middle, the established nearshoring model
  • MENA delivery: the lower end, achievable under European contracting
  • The rate says nothing about seniority — only about location

Hamburg for the contract, Cairo for delivery

Intrazero keeps an office in Hamburg and is headquartered in Cairo. That is the model rather than an accident of history: a European point of contact and contracting framework, with development by a team that has delivered 200+ projects since 2016 — including national platforms for ministries, UNICEF and the WHO.

The honest caveat: offshore delivery is not automatic. It works when requirements are documented properly, when there are named counterparts in both time zones, and when the contract sits under European law. Without those, coordination overhead eats the saving. We say so because that is where these projects fail.

  • Hamburg office for contracting, communication and escalation
  • Development from Cairo, with overlap into Central European working hours
  • Project communication in German or English
  • Arabic and English as first-class product languages, including genuine RTL

FAQ

What does a corporate website cost in Germany?

Published agency prices cluster between €3,600 and €18,000, with individual sources quoting up to €55,000 for larger projects. Fixed-price packages start at €790. The spread is almost entirely scope: template configuration versus custom design, CMS, integrations and multilingual delivery.

Why do quotes vary so much?

Because "website" describes two very different things — a template filled with your content, and custom software that happens to run in a browser. Most of a serious project's budget goes to what visitors never see: permissions and roles, integrations, security review, and the QA each language needs separately.

Are these Intrazero's prices?

No. Every figure here comes from other providers' published price lists and cost guides, read in August 2026. We publish them because buyers search for cost and deserve a straight answer. What a specific project costs with us follows from its scope — anyone quoting before that is guessing.

What does the €24–190 hourly range mean?

It is a pan-European survey by region, not a German rate. It shows the same development effort can differ eightfold depending on location, with German agencies at the top of the band. For a budget it is often the most effective variable — provided the contract and communication can carry the distance.

Is development outside Europe worth it?

It can be, but not automatically. What decides it is documented requirements, named counterparts in both time zones, and a contract under European law. Without those, coordination overhead consumes the saving. That is why our model is Hamburg for contracting and contact, Cairo for delivery.

Does Intrazero work in German?

Project communication and documentation are in German or English. On the product side, Arabic and English are first-class languages including genuine right-to-left rendering — relevant when a project also covers the MENA region.

How current are these figures?

They were read from published pages in August 2026 and carried over in euros exactly as they appeared. Prices move — treat them as a snapshot of what the market was publishing, not as an offer.
