Data Residency & On-Premise Deployment

For ministries, public universities and hospital groups, the first question is rarely about features. It is where the data lives, who can reach it, and whether the answer will satisfy a regulator and a procurement committee. That question decides whether a platform is viable at all.

Intrazero builds for that constraint rather than around it. iTest supports cloud, on-premise and hybrid deployment. iStudent supports cloud and on-premise. iAssets supports cloud and on-premise. Where a system must run inside your own infrastructure or stay within national borders, it can.

Deployment options by platform

Deployment flexibility differs per product, and it is worth being precise about it during procurement rather than discovering a constraint late.

  • iTest — cloud, on-premise or hybrid
  • iStudent — cloud or on-premise
  • iAssets — cloud or on-premise
  • MedWaste — cloud
  • iTutor — cloud

What on-premise actually means here

On-premise means the platform runs on infrastructure you control, so institutional data never leaves it. For organisations bound by national data rules, or holding health and student records they cannot place with a third party, this is often the only acceptable model.

It also changes the exit conversation. When the system runs in your environment, your data is already in your possession — a point worth settling in the contract regardless of deployment model.

  • Runs on infrastructure you control
  • Institutional data stays inside your environment
  • Suited to health records, student records and examination data
  • Simplifies data ownership and handover terms
  • Hybrid available on iTest where only part of the workload must stay local

The regulatory frameworks that apply

Data residency requirements in this region are set by national frameworks rather than a single standard. Intrazero's platforms are deployed to meet the requirement your regulator sets, in the jurisdiction it applies to.

In Saudi Arabia that means the PDPL, overseen by SDAIA, with cybersecurity expectations set by the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA). In the EU it means GDPR. Education products are built against GDPR and FERPA; healthcare products are built against MOH, JCI and CBAHI requirements, with MedWaste aligned to WHO guidelines and national regulations.

  • European Union — GDPR
  • Education platforms — GDPR and FERPA
  • iAssets — MOH, JCI and CBAHI requirements
  • MedWaste — WHO guidelines and national regulations

Access control and governance

Where data sits is only half the question; who can reach it is the other half. Intrazero platforms carry role-based access control and audit trails, so an institution can demonstrate not just where records are held but who touched them.

Single sign-on means users authenticate through your existing identity provider rather than accumulating separate credentials in yet another system — which is both a security posture and a practical adoption argument.

  • Role-based access control
  • Audit trails for examination and records governance
  • Single sign-on via your existing identity provider
  • Configurable retention and handover terms

Proven at national scale

Deployment models are easy to claim and harder to operate. Intrazero runs systems where the data-control requirement was not negotiable: Egypt's national medical licensing examination (EMLE) for the Egyptian Health Council and Ministry of Health, the national LMS programme connecting 500+ governmental university faculties, and MedWaste across all 27 Egyptian governorates.

In Saudi Arabia, iAssets operates across the Ministry of Health's Tabuk Health Cluster — 27 hospitals and 3,000+ facilities — where healthcare compliance obligations apply directly.

  • EMLE — Egypt's national medical licensing exam (9,397 doctors)
  • National LMS — 500+ governmental university faculties
  • MedWaste — all 27 Egyptian governorates
  • iAssets — Saudi MOH Tabuk Health Cluster, 27 hospitals

FAQ

Can we host Intrazero software on our own servers?

Yes. iTest, iStudent and iAssets all support on-premise deployment, so the platform runs on infrastructure you control and institutional data never leaves it. iTest additionally supports a hybrid model. MedWaste and iTutor are delivered as cloud services.

Where is our data stored, and can it stay in our country?

Data residency is configurable. With on-premise or regional cloud deployment your data stays in the jurisdiction you require — relevant for Saudi Arabia's PDPL (overseen by SDAIA, with NCA cybersecurity controls), the UAE and the EU's GDPR.

Is Intrazero ISO 27001 certified?

Intrazero does not claim ISO 27001 certification. What it does provide is deployment control — on-premise, cloud or hybrid — together with role-based access control and audit trails, so institutions can meet the requirements their own regulator sets. Raise any specific certification requirement during discovery so it is addressed in scope.

Which compliance frameworks do your products address?

Education products (iTest, iStudent) are built against GDPR and FERPA. iAssets addresses MOH, JCI and CBAHI requirements. MedWaste aligns to WHO guidelines and national regulations. The applicable framework depends on your sector and market.

What happens to our data if we stop using Intrazero?

Your institutional data remains yours. Export and handover terms are agreed in the contract, and with on-premise deployment the data is already inside your infrastructure throughout the engagement.

Does on-premise deployment limit functionality?

The platforms that support on-premise deployment are built for it rather than retrofitted, including iTest at national examination scale. Where only part of a workload must stay local, iTest also supports a hybrid model.
